Aisha reported:

Aisha reported: She was with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while on a journey. She said, “I raced him on foot and I outran him, but when I gained some weight, I raced him again and he outran me. He said: this is for that race.”

Ibn Kathir said, “It was the character of the Prophet to live in a beautiful way with them, being cheerful and kind to them, generously spending for them, and laughing with his wives.”

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ قَالَتْ فَسَابَقْتُهُ فَسَبَقْتُهُ عَلَى رِجْلَيَّ فَلَمَّا حَمَلْتُ اللَّحْمَ سَابَقْتُهُ فَسَبَقَنِي فَقَالَ هَذِهِ بِتِلْكَ السَّبْقَةِ

2578 سنن أبي داود كِتَاب الْجِهَادِ فسابقته فسبقته على رجلي فلما حملت اللحم سابقته فسبقني فقال هذه بتلك السبقة
