No man travels a path

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No man travels a path in search of knowledge except that Allah will make easy for him the path to Paradise; and whoever is slow to perform good deeds will not be advanced by his lineage.
[Sunan Abu Dawud, Number 3161, Sahih]
An-Nawawi said, “The meaning is that if his deeds are insufficient, then he will never achieve the rank of the people of virtuous deeds, such that he should not depend upon the nobility of his lineage or the virtue of his fathers and thus decrease his good deeds.”
[Sharh Sahih Muslim]
