Anas ibn Malik described the Prophet, peace be upon him, saying, “He was of medium height among the people, neither tall nor short; he had a rosy color, neither absolutely white nor deep brown; his hair was neither completely curly nor quite lank. Divine inspiration was revealed to him when he was forty years old. He stayed for ten years in Mecca receiving inspiration, and he stayed ten years in Medina. When he passed away, he had less than twenty white hairs on his head and beard.”

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 56, Number 747]

أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَصِفُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كَانَ رَبْعَةً مِنْ الْقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِالطَّوِيلِ وَلَا بِالْقَصِيرِ أَزْهَرَ اللَّوْنِ لَيْسَ بِأَبْيَضَ أَمْهَقَ وَلَا آدَمَ لَيْسَ بِجَعْدٍ قَطَطٍ وَلَا سَبْطٍ رَجِلٍ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعِينَ فَلَبِثَ بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ يُنْزَلُ عَلَيْهِ وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ وَقُبِضَ وَلَيْسَ فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ عِشْرُونَ شَعَرَةً بَيْضَاءَ

 Al-Bara said, “By Allah, when the fighting became fierce, we would seek protection by his side and the bravest among us was the one who confronted the onslaught; it was the Prophet, peace be upon him.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 19, Number 4389]

قَالَ الْبَرَاءُ كُنَّا وَاللَّهِ إِذَا احْمَرَّ الْبَأْسُ نَتَّقِي بِهِ وَإِنَّ الشُّجَاعَ مِنَّا لَلَّذِي يُحَاذِي بِهِ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

A’idh ibn Amr reported: A man came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and asked him and he gave him, and when he went out the door to leave, he said to him, “If you knew what it means to beg, then no one would go to anyone else and ask him for anything.”

[Sunan An-Nasa’i, Book of Alms, Number 2586, Sahih]

عَنْ عَائِذِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو  أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ فَلَمَّا وَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ عَلَى أُسْكُفَّةِ الْبَابِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ مَا مَشَى أَحَدٌ إِلَى أَحَدٍ يَسْأَلُهُ شَيْئًا
